Research about land and infrastructure aims to identify planning opportunities, collect baseline data and manage any adverse impacts upon land potentially affected by gas development

Research under the land and infrastructure management theme will cover projects associated with the assessment of seismicity, legacy issues and any other impacts from gas-related infrastructure. A key area of research focus will explore issues related to planning for decommissioning of onshore gas wells and other infrastructure. This project collated details on materials used in well casings and cements from information contained within Well Completion Reports. It also reviewed information on microbial activity in related geological formations from published papers and CSIRO studies.
