Invitation to join our community webcast

We're hosting a webcast to highlight research conducted over the past 10 years into the social and environmental impacts of onshore gas development in Australia.

Over the past 10 years, CSIRO researchers have conducted over 70 projects across Queensland, New South Wales, Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia, focussing on the impacts and opportunities associated with onshore gas development.

These projects – managed through CSIRO’s Gas industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance (GISERA) – aim to answer the concerns and issues local communities in gas development areas have about exploration and development of onshore gas, such as impacts on water resources, emissions, or biodiversity.

Please join us on Thursday 23 June 2022, at 1pm (AEST), where we will hear from CSIRO scientists about their research into 3D mapping of surface water flows in the Northern Territory and Queensland, and the discovery of new stygofauna species in Northern Territory aquifers.   

There will be opportunities for questions at the end of their short presentations.
